I have an older Summit Goliath (sit and climb) it weighs ~23 lbs. but when you've got to go up some of our area's ridges it feel closer to 80 lbs. and it's a great comfortable stand. I probably shouldn't tell you this but I take naps in mine sometimes as it's so freakin comfortable..lol. I prefer a sturdy front bar to sit on while climbing and lean against when shooting. That gives 3 points of contact vs 2 and is much steadier. I have a razor summit now that let's me fold the bar back when I want out of the way. But the bar is there to help this old guy climb. The protection foam is really not long enough to protect your gun.
